Words cannot express the awe and gratitude we feel towards John Ross and all those who donated in his honour.

We would like to extend a very special thank you to the Pembina stations; Drayton Valley, Mameo and Breton for their incredible generosity. These stations chose to have their Christmas funds donated to the Paramedic Pay if Forward Award in the amount of $600.00 in John’s memory. Because of John’s thoughtful and selfless nature, we had an astonishing $1141.00 donated from the friends and family of this great man. I am still left speechless when I think about John’s wishes and support.

As some of you may know, the Paramedic Pay it Forward Award has been working on bringing our profession a new award in recognition of our outstanding mentors. It is with great honour we announce the “John Ross Paramedic Mentor Award”, as a memorial for our dear friend, colleague and mentor.

This award will be available to all levels of Paramedicine in Alberta; EMR’s, EMT -A’s, and Paramedics. We will annually deliver one $500.00 award to our professions mentors, with our inaugural selection to made June 1, 2016.

Please visit our website at for more information and to nominate your mentor.

On behalf of all of the Paramedic Pay it Forward Award team, we thank you and wish you health and happiness in 2016.
