It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and colleague John Ross .   John’s girlfriend Lori and members of his family were with him at the time of his passing.

As most of you will recall, John had returned to his position as Operations Supervisor in Drayton Valley earlier this year after working his way back to full duty following a lengthy illness.  As part of his return to work, John briefly stepped into the role of acting Operations Manager in late 2014 and played a key role in the review and update of a number of operational policies and procedures as we prepared for our Accreditation site visit last January.

Recently, John’s illness was discovered to have returned and he was undergoing treatment at the Tom Baker Center in Calgary until being moved to palliative care this weekend.

John was incredibly dedicated to his role as an Operations Supervisor and was truly passionate about being a paramedic.  He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to work with him.  John was an incredibly respected member of the Associated Ambulance family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with John’s family  and also with his extended Associated Ambulance family, particularly  the those who worked with John out of the Drayton Valley, Breton and Mameo stations.
