Words cannot express how proud we are of everyone who has given of themselves selflessly. Posted below is an email that Wayne shared with me from the Associated Ambulance Family/Whitecourt. Thank you again to all of you for being who you are, and doing what you do.

Good Afternoon Everybody,

I hope you had a Merry Christmas.  In regards to more information about the Christmas donations that the Whitecourt station was involved in, there isn’t really much to tell.  There was a food bank donation challenge organized between the Town of Whitecourt and Woodlands county to see who could donate the most food.  Bill usually buys Christmas gifts for the staff, but this year he asked if everyone would be ok with giving a monetary donation to the food bank challenge instead, as they were recognizing money at a pound of food per dollar.  Everybody thought that was a great idea, especially in light of the current economic times, and the fact that food bank usage is steadily increasing.  Staff also donated to the challenge, and with our community partners, the Town of Whitecourt raised 3344.65 pounds of food to Woodlands County’s 2316,  handily winning the challenge and a total of 5660.65 pounds of food going to the Whitecourt Food Bank.

When Associated offered to help subsidize any Christmas celebrations we might be planning, we all talked about it, and we all figured that any getting together we might be doing would probably be pretty low key.  We decided that if there was any money to be had, it would probably be better served going to those in greater need of a happy Christmas, rather than padding our bellies, so we decided to ask for a donation to the Whitecourt Christmas hampers instead, and we also donated some money and toys.

On behalf of the Whitecourt staff, we would like to thank you guys again for the continued support shown to our community.

Wayne.
